Check for understanding Step 1

Now that we have (a) learned about historical narrative, biography, and autobiography as a genre of history, (b) learned some strategies to teach historical narrative, biography, and autobiography in our history classrooms, and (c) examined a lesson plan using a particular strategy (Historical Narrative Analysis: Burke's Pentad) to teach historical narrative (biography), it is time to see how we might incorporate the techniques learned into practical teaching settings.  Let's take a look at a lesson designed to teach anti-slavery biographies using a strategy called "Bio-cubes."  You can access the lesson plan and other contextual and ancillary documents here.
